So you want to make your own custom designed cap but need help getting started? I am here to make a once complicated process, so very easy to navigate. Let's get started !
You have your basic concept, your perfect cap idea, which means you need to start by making a sample. But first you have to choose your style, Flat Brim, Flex Band, Snap Back, Paperboy, Fedora, Beanie, you can make 'em all, but let's start with one first and then the rest of the line will flow from there.
Sketch out your design by hand, dial in the concept, the details, and really nail the customized nature Flat Fitty allows you to achieve. When the concept is ready place the file into Adobe Illustrator, if your need help with this we can always lend that "extra" design hand but Illustrator is the design platform of choose for Flat Fitty.
Cap color is as important as any element you will decide upon so make sure you nail what's trending, We have tons of colors and fabrics to choose from ?. Black is always a perfect fit for all demographics.
Be sure to choose a fabric from that meets your design's needs. Cotton or Acrylic for designs with heavy all over multi-color screenprinting , while lush wools are perfect for one hit front 3D Puff embroideries.
Trims are a super important element of design that shouldn't be overlooked. This cap is your canvas, so design to the hilt; custom metal trims, pvc patches, custom buttons, logo?d rivets, etc anything that is waaaay outside of the box, go for broke dude.
Once you have your design pretty solidified it's time to mash it all together in Flat Fitty's tech pack / spec layout. The Spec Sheet will be supplied by your sales person previous to starting your sample design. If you're having trouble, no worries, your FF Developer is an email away for immediate assistance.
Once your Tech Pack has been fully finalized and placed into the Illustrator layout it's time to email the design to your Flat Fitty Developers, these are no average Joe's; Neo, Cindy and their crew cater to the most prestigious brands in the world in 63 countries, they will lead you by hand throughout the whole process, don?t give up, email the team for assistance, customer service is our specialty!
Our Developers will help you complete the spec, then they will receive the design by email .... review the layout and fire off a return email with any outstanding T's that need crossing, or I's that need dotting, before submitting your sample to our sample room.
After your replies are finalized then communicated to our team, your design is sent off to our sample room where our best technicians lend their amazing skillz to sewing your custom cap designs. The whole process takes about 2 to 3 weeks; we are working approx 200+ samples at any given time, so your patience is appreciated!
Once the sample has been completed your sales person or developer will send 6 to 8 pictures of your completed sample, from every possible angle, showing you the attention to detail that was achieved with your prototype.
You review the pictures, stoked your new design has come to life ... look for any details that may have been missed. Don't worry 99% of the time we nail it first sample try, one of our best selling points for the big brands. Once approved send back any comments, most likely your comments will be CHEERS ! AWESOME !
Once the sample is completed and all sample and shipping fees (if applicable) have been finalized, your sample will be sent via express to your door, or possibly hand delivered by your sales rep, usually you will receive within 2 ? 5 days of completion!
Now you have your sample in hand. Stoked that your custom design has come to life.
